After Hours:

Daveda is a diehard Chicagoan who loves laughter, reading, NIA and "talking story." Currently, Daveda serves on the board of Powerful Voices, an organization dedicated to leadership development for adolescent girls and Real Food Project, an nationwide effort to bring more "real foods" into colleges and universities. She is the founder of Nyawela Consulting, a personal leadership and authentic learning consulting group. Based on completely biased and limited feedback, Daveda has fabulous family, friends and fun in abundance.

Background:

Prior to joining Pyramid, Daveda served as the manager of education for Casey Family Programs, the largest operational foundation in the country focused on child welfare. There she used her experience as a university administrator, facilitator and curriculum designer to manage a national scholarship program as well as to identify and implement education-based best practices for children in out-of-home care. Prior to coming to Seattle, she worked as a high school English teacher and performing artist in Chicago. She has extensive training and certifications in strategic planning, facilitation, time management, and various behavioral assessment and analysis tools. Daveda earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Aurora University and a master’s degree in multicultural education and international studies from Columbia College–Chicago.
