Erin Hiemstra

Project Manager
At Pyramid:

Erin applies her political experience to help bridge multiple interests and build strategic relationships that deliver success. A keen advocate and organizer with a passion for civic engagement, Erin works with clients to develop strategic plans, targeted messaging, events and campaigns that have a lasting impact. Erin is a member of both Pyramid’s government relations team and the firm’s events group and works with clients such as the Woodland Park Zoo, Neighborcare Health, YMCA and the Wallace Foundation.

After Hours:

Erin splits her time between Northwest-based sports and Northwest-based arts. If she’s not cheering on the Mariners in the summer, then she’s running local races or hiking trails, winter is split between Seahawks football and skiing Steven’s Pass. A long time subscriber to the Seattle Opera and a member of the Seattle Repertory Theater Crew board, many evenings Erin can be found checking out the latest show or band if she’s not at the dog park with her two dogs, Sacha and Bailey.

Background:

Erin has more than eight years of experience working to influence public policy for both national and local nonprofit organizations. She has led communications, event planning, and strategic outreach and advocacy campaigns for the Housing Development Consortium of Seattle-King County, directed federal lobbying efforts for the American Association of University Women and managed outreach for various national nonprofit organizations in Washington, D.C. Erin also served as a policy staffer for social issues in the office of U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell.

Erin earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a master’s degree in public policy at The George Washington University.
