Sarah Stephan
Sarah manages and oversees all aspects of Pyramid’s Portland office. She is lead strategist on numerous healthcare, education, sustainability and social justice projects. Sarah specializes in untangling thorny public policy issues in order to help Oregonians make informed decisions that will improve their lives. Strategic planning, integrated campaigns, community building, and powerful messaging are at the heart of what she delivers to help move people to action.
Her clients have included AARP-Oregon, Mercy Corps, Oregon Health Science University, Chalkboard Project, Metro and Portland Public Schools.
When Sarah isn’t picking up her daughter Zoe from swim team practice or waiting for her son Ben to come off the river in an Opti sailboat, she can be found hanging out in a Pilates studio or taking early morning walks through Tryon Creek. Her former career in the ski and snowboard industry means she looks for any excuse to hold “summit meetings” from a Mt. Hood chairlift with like-minded clients.
Before joining Pyramid to run the firm’s Portland, Ore., office in 2007, Sarah ran her own public affairs and communications agency, Iona Factor. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Carleton College, where she cut her social justice teeth under former political science professor Paul Wellstone prior to his election to the U.S. Senate.
