Welling Savo Justin

Senior Project Manager
At Pyramid:

Welling specializes in communications planning, branding and campaign development, working to shape issue-based initiatives and social change efforts. She relies on her journalism instincts to help clients hone key messages, craft stories and produce materials to further their causes. Welling thrives on helping diverse people and organizations build relationships, determine common priorities and collaborate across issues to advance positive change.

Welling serves as Pyramid’s project lead for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Food & Fitness initiative, a national effort to create healthier food and physical activity environments through policy and systems change. She recently facilitated a rebranding process on behalf of Active Living By Design and conducted research, messaging and strategic planning support for the Children’s Alliance End Childhood Hunger Campaign. Past and current clients include the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, VISIONS Inc. and PAWS, among others.

After Hours:

When she’s not swapping stories at her husband’s ski shop or packing gear into their truck for a weekend in the mountains, Welling can be found catching up on novels at her neighborhood bookstore or plotting her next trip abroad. Welling serves as vice president and fundraising chair on the board of Seattle-based nonprofit Arts Corps, which fosters creative habits of mind in young people through a passionate corps of teaching artists.

Background:

Before joining Pyramid, Welling worked for literary independent Bloomsbury Publishing in Manhattan and spent three years on the editorial staff of Boston magazine. After publishing an article on the eugenics movement, following a months-long investigation into the state-sponsored sterilization, Welling was inspired to return to the social justice sector. Welling is a graduate of Colgate University, where she studied English and religion and was a Division-I springboard diver.
