What's new at Pyramid
MyPathCareers Hits the Streets
Oregon Workforce Investment Board (OWIB) — an advisory body to the state’s governor on workforce related issues — recently partnered with MyPathCareers.org and Pyramid to develop and implement a marketing campaign aimed at 17-24 year olds around workforce development and training systems in Oregon.
Pyramid’s partnership with OWIB helped connect youth to the education and training necessary for career success. Pyramid conducted research to determine what resonates most concretely with youth and found that the key was to reach them through their peers. This led us to one of the central features of the marketing campaign — the creation of an energetic street team to help spread the word about MyPathCareers.org.
The street team embarked on a statewide journey to events throughout Oregon, including the Northwest Youth Careers Expo, the Rose Festival, Oregon High School Rodeo Finals, Trailblazers Street Jam and more.
With iPads in tow, the team engaged their peers by introducing MyPathCareers.org, where youth can go to learn about various career opportunities and paths to success. The street team reached thousands by encouraging young people to take part in a texting campaign where they could win prizes and learn more about the program.
