Expansion … and more.
Poised for a significant expansion that would shift the Museum's mission, absorb the local science museum and add several new features—including a planetarium, an Arctic Studies Center and new gallery space for major touring shows—the Anchorage Museum needed a communications partner to help engage Alaska audiences and the tourism industry in its broad range of programs and exhibits, as well as its celebrated cafe and museum shop.
Our work has focused on distinguishing the Anchorage Museum within a crowded and competitive environment of institutions presenting the Alaska Native culture and way of life both contemporary and traditional. We began by creating a brand, logo and identity that positions Anchorage Museum as Alaska’s premier art, history and science institution—both a necessary stop for travelers and a regular, repeat visit for Alaskans. We developed an outreach campaign—“…and more.”—that was designed to raise awareness about the museum’s new features and focus among Anchorage and Alaska residents.
Anchorage Museum circulated a full suite of newly branded materials developed by Pyramid, including print and electronic newsletters, membership materials, press kit, rack card and a variety of signage. The campaign ramped up for the museum’s grand re-opening on May 30, 2009, with advertisements in Alaska newspapers, magazines and transit. Campaign communications and marketing are scheduled to unfold through 2010, according to a comprehensive communications plan created by Pyramid.
