Extraordinary people

Chalkboard Project

Chalkboard Project was formed in 2003 by five of Oregon’s largest charitable foundations to help strengthen the state’s K–12 schools. After five years of working with foundations and nonprofits, Chalkboard needed to reestablish community connections and bring new advocates into the fold.

As Chalkboard’s long-term communications partner, Pyramid designed, wrote and produced a report to inform Oregonians about Chalkboard’s work and inspire people to take action by suggesting ways to get involved. “Our Voices, Our Schools: 2008–2009 Education Report to Oregonians” contextualized Chalkboard's five core focus areas with profiles of ordinary people doing extraordinary things in Oregon schools.

Our Voices, Our Schools: 2008-2009 Education Report to Oregonians was considered a tremendous success by Chalkboard’s partners. To date, the report has helped clarify and focus Chalkboard’s mission for a range of audiences, including business leaders, legislators, education stakeholders and superintendents across the state. Not only that, the report has guided the redesign of Chalkboard’s print materials.
