In 2011, when University of Puget Sound launched the public phase of a multi-year campaign to invest in the future of the university, they chose Pyramid as their partner. Together, we devised a campaign to raise $125M and engage alumni, potential donors, parents, students and faculty with renewed energy.
Eyes on the prize, our bold goal was to increase engagement, inspire investment and raise visibility. The challenge? Establish an emotional connection based on shared values that would cut across decades.
We began by creating an inspiring, energetic and memorable campaign theme-One [of a Kind]-that expresses the singularity of the place, the people and their accomplishments.

Still in motion, One [of a Kind] celebrates the individual stories connecting the Puget Sound community and making an impact on the world. Throughout the course of the campaign, the individuals themselves build the case for support and create an emotional journey that the community can join. The visual look and feel of the campaign is bright, bold, forward-looking and unexpected¬-not business as usual.
The campaign strategy evolves over a four-year period and provides support for an existing fundraising infrastructure, leverages existing outreach methods and takes advantage of community-building opportunities in the digital realm.
We launched the effort with a gigantic party to rally the troops, inspire the community and celebrate the Puget Sound community. Pyramid developed the event creative to transform an ordinary basketball court into a one of a kind venue for a stellar night.
