State of the arts

The city of Seattle is known for its cultural literacy. Promoting the arts through a full program of grants to artists and organizations, the Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs must capture the year’s achievements in an annual report that mirrors the vitality, diversity and sophistication of the city’s arts scene.

Each year since 2005, the Office has engaged Pyramid to create its annual report. We've organized a vast array of content and information—including hundreds of gorgeous photos—to encapsulate each year’s events and projects in a distinctively designed report. Each report is radically different and conveys the culture and mood of Seattle’s arts scene at a particular point in time. Produced in the midst of great economic uncertainty, the 2008 report illuminates the ways in which the vision and spirit of Seattle’s artists nurture the cultural, economic and social wellbeing of the city.
